Devices to help with talking
The types of AT covered here produce speech for the user, or using non-wearable technology amplifies the speech of others.
Hearing amplifiers (excluding Hearing aids)
Allows a person to hear what is being said by other people in another location and/or noisy environment, e.g. in the car
PC based voice output communication (VOC) software
Allows a person to replay recordings of natural speech or generate artifical speech using a computer
Portable voice ouput communication aid (VOCA)
Allows a person to replay recordings of natural speech or generate artifical speech with an electronic device. Portable can imply mountable on a wheelchair as well.
