These systems detect and send an alert if someone has left their dwelling or room when it is not appropriate or it may be dangerous for them to do so. Some of these products may be suitable for people suffereing from dementia.
The Wandering Alarm comprises of an intruder alarm type keypad, door contact, power supply and a radio interface unit (to send alerts). The keypad is used to arm the door alarm whenever a carer leaves. The exit time starts when the arm code is entered. If the door is opened and the disarm code is not entered within the preset entry time then an alarm call will be initiated.
