UK Policy & Relevant Publications
While it is clear that ATT is being promoted because they offer the possibility that we as a nation can afford to deliver care services to the increasing ageing population, there are other important benefits. These are, ATT also provides the opportunity to improve the quality of care per se, and, reduce the impact on quality of care from the smaller funding per client that will inevitably come with an increasing proportion of the population reliant on income generated from a decreasing proportion of workers.
The government is now strongly advocating the use of Assistive Technology and Telecare and is currently providing funding for innovations in service and research. This national drive is being guided by policies and other publications here.
