ACTivity

The ACT Programme has two main elements:

Two-thirds of the programme's resources will be dedicated to new R&D, and one-third to knowledge transfer activities. Both groups of activities will make strong contributions to the 'economic stimulation' and 'growth sector champion' roles of the programmes aims and objectives, which support many of the governments policies, across the UK, to support the growing needs of an ageing population.

We are conducting several Research & Development Projects aimed at developing improved and new products in the care and support of frail older and vulnerable people. The ACT programme brings together an exceptional combination of R&D experience and expertise in the disciplines of Assistive Technology, Telecare and older people studies from University of Sheffield and Barnsley Hospital NHS Trust.

Throughout the period of the ACT Programme, we will be holding several Knowledge Transfer events to raise the level of knowledge and awareness of the potential of assistive and telecare technologies across South Yorkshire. These events will also seek to promote new collaborations between companies, organisations, the University and the NHS to further develop ATT products and services.
